According to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Terminator 6 may not be dead yet.
I’ll just go ahead and get the obvious reference out of the way-- “I’ll be back”Alright sorry I had to do that.
Now Terminator Genysis came out in 2015- and struggled at the box office- making just 89 million dollars in the states.
It did however receive a massive boost from the international markets, which brought it’s global gross to 440.6 million -- In China, it actually made 89 million in a single day.
While it did end up making its money back - it wasn’t exactly the smash hit that Paramount was hoping for.
And they made their feelings explicitly clear when they removed the planned Genisys sequel from their release calendar -- the studio equivalent of putting someone out of their misery.
But now it seems like hope isn’t entirely gone for a sequel.
While talking with Channel 9 in Australia, Arnold Schwarzenneger was asked about the chances another Terminator film being made. His answer was simply, “I’m looking forward to it, absolutely.”
That’s hardly an official confirmation, but it does indicate that Paramount may not have completely killed the project yet.
With the last three Terminator films not impressing viewers, do you think they should make a sixth? Let us know what you think in the comment section.
