In today's stream we dive back into the beautiful yet quite dangerous world of Terra Ranoma; an open-world, tabletop RPG, tactical roguelike in Early Access to explore Update 20 on the latest patch (v.0.77.02). Noticeable changes in Update 20 would be 3 new potions (explosive, freezing and poison), a Shady character who sells those potions among other nefarious things, access to the Artisan vault to redeem rewards depending on your reputation, rework to the in-game Journal to show reputation among establishments including Artisans and tweaking the Alchemy skills to accomodate the new potions. There's a few other things that got added/tweaked as well that am probably forgetting to mention but those are the biggest changes off top of my head.

If you are not familiar with Terra Randoma be sure to check out our Roguelike Spotlight series, episode #11 that we did on the game. Essentially in a nutshell it's a tabletop RPG roguelike with tons of random generation from maps, locations, enemy spawns, events and glorious loot!

There's multiple difficulty options to tweak to your liking as well as gameplay options that can depict how the world layout will be. There's also a great deal of character classes to try out and experiment with as well ranging from your typical monster smashing warrior types to your squishy but with powerful spell caster types. There is no main campaign to follow but the world around you changes as you play, evolving around your actions. Some cities may prosper, others may fall. It becomes a true story about you and your heroic or less heroic accomplishments. A true hero simulator in a roguelike setting.

Each class start off with a couple basic talent stones (abilities) but after that, it's left up to you how you want to build your character once you invest some gold at the Adventurers Guild to add more talent stones to your arsenal of abilities and skills. As you level up, you can divvy out points into your main attributes (strength, dexterity, intelligence) and a vast array of skills that after certain milestones become more powerful, granting new passive affects or taking on new meanings. The freedom to choose how you want your character to develop is however you see fit with little to no limitations meaning that if you start as a Caster, you could evolve into a Melee fighter down the road if you wanted.

The solo programmer Deniz K has been very steady with new updates every few weeks (like this one) ever since it released into EA back in 2020 and has been his passion project as far back as the early 2010's. It's essentially a two person project with Deniz K taking care of the game aspects with design, programming, artwork, music and anything else game related and OztheGamingHuntress handling everything else. It's a true labor of love and the people behind it are some really kind, gentle, stand-up folks deserving of your attention for their game. If you are a fan of Roguelikes or good tabletop RPGs or turn-based tactical games you'll LOVE what they have here for you in Terra Randoma. Don't sleep on this one!
