Test of Atari 2600 z-mapping

This is a quick test I wanted to show friends of a z-map technique on the Atari 2600. For each line of the ground, a lookup table in ROM stores the z position (0 through 255) of that scanline. The lines are colored a light or dark strip depending on the z-position of that scanline plus an offset (which changes to make it animate). This opens the door for accurately positioning sprites into the distance, or more complicated shading than is shown here (even a simple pseudo-texturing technique is possible!).
