Description:

0:00 Title Screen
The game starts out in Japanese, so you have to fumble around the options menu to change it to English. That explains why Sounding Stone likes to put the language select options right before the title screen.
0:56 Act 0
The Night of Black Snow is a time during the war when the snow turned black. It's implied to be due to an explosion causing soot to fill the air.
There's also an implication where the only way to save the world is to erase people's memories.
4:51 Act 1
Kaito is being bullied, to the point where the bullies knock him unconscious and lock him in the music room.
The part-time teacher, Marie, walks around the school to look for coffee, but runs away from a rat monster. She opens the music room and finds Kaito, but she's too apathetic to help him with the bullies.
Outside, the two run into a rat, but Marie can't use magic without revealing her identity, so she gets KOed by the rat. However, Kaito uses his own magic to solo it.
22:43 Stage 1: Test of Magic
This is the tutorial level, where you fight rats while learning the mechanics. This game has a skill usage mechanic like the Tales series and Capella's Promise, so make sure not to just spam one skill, or the others will fall behind and you won't be able to learn new skills.
There will be some dialogue choices about Kaito's tastes in food and drink, but they don't seem to mean anything.
47:25 Boss: Werewolf
The boss has a faster attack animation than the rats and can use a powerful single-target skill when it gains enough MP. Make sure to keep everyone's health high once you see that the boss is one MP away from using their skill.
I didn't realize this at first, but when you use a skill to finish off a boss, there's a face cut-in for the party members. It doesn't do anything but look cool.

Marie realizes that Kaito will be miserable at the dorms, so she invites him to join her orphanage, which is probably associated with other mages.
52:53 Terminal
This is basically a level select screen. If you want, you can revisit the first act to grind and even view optional events that you might have missed.
