Testing iPhone External USB-C Storage SSD With a Macbook Pro - IDSONIX MC20 2TB MagSafe Magnetic SSD
So in this video I am testing an external USB-C SSD that is designed for the iPhone but with a Mac.
The USB-C SSD is the IDSONIX MC20 2TB which has MagSafe magnetic compatibility for attaching to any compatible USB-C iPhone that has MagSafe, such as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series. This SSD would typically be used for recording video from the Apple camera app or something like the Blackmagic Camera App, which is what I use.
As this is a USB-C SSD it will also work with most nearly any USB-C host devices, such as a Mac computer. So the computer that I am testing it with is the M4 Max MacBook Pro. The tests including using the MC20 as a media drive for my DaVinci Resolve Studio video editing projects. I also do a synthetic disk speed test using the Blackmagic Disk Speed App and also some real world disk speed tests using a 100GB and 500GB test folders.
The idea of this video is to show that the IDSONIX MC20, which is available in 512GB, 1TB and 2TB sizes, can have multipurpose uses. The first use is for what it is deigned for, use with an iPhone and the secondary use is for use as an external USB-C SSD storage drive with a Mac computer. The simplest dual use for the MC20 would be to shoot video footage to it with an iPhone and then edit directly from the MC20 with a Mac, or indeed most computers. Then there are the obvious uses as a storage drive as well for your Mac.
This could be an ideal USB-C SSD for anyone who uses both an iPhone and a Mac.
