The M4 Mac Mini has no USB-A ports and you're used to using USB-A peripherals on your older Mac Mini, for things such as USB flash drives, USB wireless receivers, USB SD card readers, USB audio interfaces etc.

Well no problem. You can use a USB dock, USB hub, Thunderbolt dock or Thunderbolt hub, all of which will give you many USB-A and USB-C ports. However, if you only need to connect one or maybe two USB-A peripherals to the USB-C or Thunderbolt 4 sockets on your M4 Mac Mini. Just use some simple USB-A to USB-C adapters, sometimes called USB-A to USB-C dongle adapters.

I have not thoroughly tested the 990 Pro with all of my enclosures. However, this is an excellent SSD if used internally with a computer with proper SSD cooling and good airflow. While I can't recommend the 990 Pro just yet for any use with any enclosure, here's some links for anyone who is going to use it in a properly cooled computer.
