Testing Out The Comica CVM-WM200C UHF Wireless Lapel Mic
Today I am testing out the Comica CVM-WM200C Wireless UHF Lapel Mic system and I want to thank Viewflex for sending me this mic to review. Ironically I was already in the market for purchasing a decent lapel mic system when this review opportunity came across my desk and now I have to say I am really glad it did!
After just a few minutes of testing I could already tell that this would quickly become my preferred mic system for recording on both my Youtube channel and for outside work while attending various VR gaming conferences. The build quality is great and I was very surprised at just how sturdy it all was... Form the minute I opened the box to find the very nice hard case that this mic comes with I just knew it was going to be a quality piece of tech!
Overall the set up and ease of use were fantastic and I had the entire thing up and running in minutes. The connections from both the transmitter to the mic and the receiver to the PC were solid and I very much like the fact that the wires screwed into the receptacles to prevent them from coming loose or being completely dislodged while recording. The kit comes with both the 3.5mm and XLR plugs for hooking it up to various recording systems. I will say however that the only thing I was slightly disappointed with was the fact that even though the WM200C states compatibility with cell phones it would not work out of the box with my Samsung S9+. For any Samsung phones it would require the use of a TRS to TRRS adapter which unfortunately is not included in this kit!
The audio quality and range are also very nice with the WM200C and it seems to mitigate background noise well. I would have liked to test this at CES this year but as stated above, I did not have the proper adapter for use with my Samsung phone so unfortunately I did not get to test it in a noisy conference environment. I did however test it at home with gameplay in my Oculus Rift S which users of this headset will know has a really horrible Mic! With the Comica Microphone the video came out nice and clear and when not recording I also tested it on several VR FPS games and my teammates said I sounded great! Now with that said and as I mention in my video review, due to the cost of this mic I would not recommend it simply for gaming purposes.
So overall I have to say I am impressed with the Comica WM200C Mic system and would definitely recommend this Mic setup to any other content creators out there that are looking for a system that has good build and sound quality, Range and ease of use! Thanks again to Viewflex for sending this my way.. I will for sure be using it often on my channel going forward! []-)
