Charles Martinet, the iconic voice of Mario in Nintendo games since the 1990s, is stepping down from the role. However, he will continue to serve as a "Mario Ambassador," traveling to promote the beloved character, signing autographs, and performing Nintendo character voices worldwide. Nintendo expressed their gratitude for his years of bringing Mario to life. Martinet has not only voiced Mario but also Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi in the games. While he didn't voice Mario in the recent movie, he did play a small role as Mario's dad. Despite his dedication, Martinet had previously mentioned that if he felt unable to continue, he'd recommend finding a replacement. Nintendo has not provided details about why he's stepping down or who will succeed him as Mario's voice.
