The Best Thing at CES (And Why You Shouldn't Buy It)
It's true, CES isn't the go-to for seeing what the next big deal in consumer gadgets and technology will be, like it once was. But, the show is a great place for smaller companies to show off, and for the rest of us to see new, mind-blowing, far-off technology. Case in point: 4K TVs.
Sharp showed off an 8K TV prototype (that won't be available for several years), but at CES 2013, people were crazy for 4K. These are the next step in "Ultra HD;" 4K has roughly 4 times the pixel density as 1080p, about 4352 x 2176 pixels. Critics say they look incredible, especially up close.
