Facebook's Free Voice Calls, Graph Search, and Privacy Changes
Facebook has made a few changes recently in an attempt to stay relevant. The biggest news is that iphone users will now get free VoIP calling- meaning free phone calls over wireless or data plans. This is great news to people who don't have good reception, and early reports say that the call quality is on the same level as similar services such as Skype and Vonage. What's the difference? Well, those services don't have as large a number of users as Facebook.
You may or may not have noticed you lost access to some privacy changes in the past month- that's likely due to the new Graph Search feature which is rolling out in beta. Graph search, which can help you narrow down friends and others down by their likes- like a particular restaurant, or by who likes to go surfing or enjoys movies. Consequentially, you could also use graph search to find out who's racist, sexist, and just plain weird.
