The Continue Code in Super Mario Bros (NES) - Retrogaming Easter Eggs
Super Mario Bros. for the NES was a pretty difficult game, and a lot of that difficulty stems from the fact that there are NORMALLY no continues in this game, but... you see where I'm going with this.
The Continue Code in Super Mario Bros. allows you to continue from the last World you reached before your Game Over. After you lose all your lives, wait for the game to bring you back to the title screen, then hold the A button when you press Start. Now, instead of restarting all over from level 1-1, you will be on the first level of the last world you made it to!
Note that this code can be used on a 1 Player or 2 Player game. In fact in this example, I got a game over in a 1 Player game on level 8-4 and I used the code to start a 2 Player game and both Mario and Luigi started over at level 8-1!
I vaguely recall something about how this code can only be used a limited number of times, but I just tested it like 10 times in a row and it worked every time. So idk maybe I remember bad!
