Tidal Basin, the stronghold which will unlock World Tier 5, the final (for now) difficulty tier of The Division 2, will be released on April 5, not this Friday, but next.
There’s been a lot of info crammed into this reveal, so I’ll try to sum up some of the most pressing highlights.
There will be some sort of story component to all this. Tidal Basin will unlock for a specific reason and it’s implied we’ll see some more cutscenes relating to how and why the world is expanding as Black Tusk retreats to its stronghold.
Tidal Basin is much larger with a much more involved boss fight than any stronghold before.
After completing Tidal Basin you will unlock World Tier 5 and Heroic difficulty for missions, which is one level above Challenging. Heroic difficulty has been described as “an act of cruelty” by the developers. It will not have unique rewards, but it will offer a wider range of higher GS gear than everything else as a reward.
After World Tier 5 is unlocked, there will be more Invaded missions that will rotate on a weekly basis and reset every week, with special rewards the first time you beat them that week. Supposedly there is a story reason behind why missions get re-invaded as well.
Tidal Basin will unlock three gear sets with more to follow. We have already seen the True Patriot set which stacks debuffs on enemies resulting in buffs for you, but the other two are being kept secret (unless they’ve leaked, I haven’t checked).
