WorldTier 5.
Theres no need to do all of it, just pick and choose what you think makes the most sense. If you have something to add to this list just mention it in a comment, and I will make sure to edit.
Blueprints:
Continue running Checkpoints at Alert Level 3 until you don't receive any more blueprints. This way you have all currently obtainable attachments for your guns.
Challenging Missions:
Try and get comfortable with mission layouts, spawn points and boss fights on a higher difficulty, especially if you have only done the missions once or twice while levelling. This knowledge will benefit your first few runs in the new Heroic difficulty and might save you a death or two.
Clan:
Join a Clan! We are moving closer to the first raid, so this is a perfect time to make some new friends, run some missions together and talk about the game! Find like-minded people and share your knowledge, hang out in discord and make some friends.
Clan Cache:
Try to be in that #1 spot on clan xp next week, as this will give you not one, but two Clan Caches to open. Im not 100% sure when their ilvl is determined, but i think if you pick them up after you hit 500+ they should be 500+ aswell.
Collections:
Try and get those last few missing items for your collections tab! If you want it all or just the backpack attachments is up to you, but there are plenty of treasures hidden around Washington waiting for you to pick them up!
Commendations:
Complete as many commendations as you can, but don't claim the commendation reward caches before WT5. This way you can claim and open a bunch of them at once in WT5 for a nice ilvl boost.
Crafting Materials:
Max out all your crafting materials. If you find new blueprints for attachments in or after the new stronghold you can craft and add them to your collection instantly.Dark Zone Levels:
Simple, raise your Dark Zone Level! This will unlock new perks and might help you get those sweet ilvl 500 drops on the helicopter just a tiny bit faster.
E-Credits:
It's always good to have some cash, especially when starting a new World Tier. You will be recalibrating more items, so make sure you don't run out of dough. There's no specific number really, I've seen people with 100k and 500k. Whatever you think is fair.
Exotics:
If you have all 4 known non-preorder exotics, farm 2 extra exotics of your choice and deconstruct them. This will give you 4 Exotic Parts, which means you can instantly upgrade all 4 exotics to WT5 once you upgrade your crafting bench.
Learn Enemy Types:
Pay attention to your surroundings and keep an eye out for weaknesses on certain enemy types! You can shoot grenadiers right before they throw their grenades, you can stop gunners from setting up their LMG with the oxidizer, etc. Knowing weakpoints and weaknesses might make the difference in a fight!
Faction Keys:
Stock up on Faction Keys, especially Black Tusk. If Tidal Basin is the size of Roosevelt Island with more verticality, chances are high that there are plenty of faction chests inside. Going in with a full bag of keys will guarantee that none of those caches stay locked.
Hunter Masks:
Finish your collection of Hunter Masks while it's still easy to find groups. Every day more and more agents complete their hunt, so this might get harder later in the game.
Intel:
Max out on intel (50), just in case some new bad guys decide to make trouble.
Ivory Keys:
Catch up on 7/8 Ivory Keys. This way solving the last riddle will immediatley open the cache for you.
Key Fragments:
Save up all the key fragments you get. If the new patch adds more apparel, you can craft a bunch of keys and open chests immediately.
Side Missions and Hidden Side Missions:
Complete all the side missions you can find to unlock additional attachments for your guns. There are also 5 Hidden Side Missions. If your progress doesn't show 100% completion for Side Missions figure out which one is missing and complete it!
Specialization Points:
Max out all specializations! You never know what the new best build will be, so you might aswell get them all ready.
Try different builds:
You might find a build thats more fun than what you are using right now, and you can keep an eye out for items that fit the build on your way through Tidal Basin!
Make an Alt:
This will allow you to gain additional weekly rewards, and share them with your main character through your stash! This might seem like a lot of effort to some, but you can find plenty of people to rush you through invaded missions, you can just share 450 items from your main, and youll be on the same gear level in no time. 1
