The Double Pharaoh Shot Trick in Mega Man IV (NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
In Mega Man IV for the NES, it's possible to deal damage with a fully charged Pharaoh Shot twice while only expending the energy of one fully charged shot. It's a pretty handy and easy two for one deal, and it can also cause some silly situations as I will demonstrate.
The ability you receive from defeating Pharaoh Man is called Pharaoh Shot, and it is one of the few Mega Man weapon powers that can be charged by holding the B button. When you charge this ability, a glowing sphere of energy will hover above Mega Man's head. This sphere has a hit box and can be used to damage enemies, and can even sometimes be used as a shield to protect Mega Man from weaker enemies who approach from above. When you release the B button, Mega Man will launch the fully charged Pharaoh Shot (which can even be aimed diagonally) at his target for massive damage.
However, if a boss enemy (or a strong enemy in general) makes contact with the glowing sphere while it is hovering above Mega Man, that enemy will take damage as if he were just smacked by a fully charged Pharaoh Shot. However, Mega Man still has a fully charged Pharaoh Shot loaded that he can shoot by releasing the B button. However, the weapon energy expended is equal to the cost of a single fully charged Pharaoh Shot. So by damaging your enemy twice with the Pharaoh Shot in these ways, you make more efficient usage of your weapon energy.
Also, sometimes it's possible to die while your Pharaoh Shot orb is still floating in place. In this example I was able to die, then Bright Man jumped into my floating orb and he exploded. So I defeated the boss after he defeated me, and when he dropped his large life energy capsule, Mega Man was able to collect it while dead. It still counts as having defeated Bright Man, but you will lose a life even though your life bar has some health remaining??
