Chapter 2 of The Dream Machine continues with Victor awakening 3 statues inside the dream of Mr. Morton. A safe contains the key needed to escape the basement and return to Alicia.

With Victor still inside Mr. Morton's dream, three statues require him to solve different puzzles in order to bring them to life. The statues, representing different ages of the Morton family tree, have different flaws preventing them from seeing, hearing, or speaking. One statue requires clever use of an anvil, hammer, and stirrup. A second statue requires lenses for its eyes in order to see clearer. The third statue requires it's vocal chords be corrected after fixing a broken rod.
Upon catching up to Mr. Morton, it appears his dream has gotten the better of him. The meaning and purpose of the dream machine soon becomes clear. But what threat does it pose to other tenants of the estate?
Back in the real world, Victor finds a way to use the palm reader to enter the basement surveillance room. The whole complex has been rigged with cameras. And it seems Alicia may be the next victim. Victor must use clues in the room to find the safe code. For within the safe is the elevator key.
