In this chapter, the Eternal Champion begins her search for the fifth piece of the Staff of Chaos, hidden deep inside the mysterious Crystal Tower. The search leads her to the Mage Guild in Lilandril, Summurset Isle, where the mages agree to provide assistance in exchange for Jenna retrieving a magic diamond for them from the nearby Temple of Mad God, populated by aggressive warrior monks and monsters. Jenna braves the Temple and retrieves the diamond, which helps the mages find the exact location of the Crystal Tower. There, she encounters ever more powerful enemies (including her very first Vampire), some of them actually being imprisoned in an odd Bestiary, containing a variety of monsters and guarded by Trolls. Despite all the obstacles, Jenna eventually locates the fifth piece of the Staff at the very top of the Tower and proudly integrates it with the other four, much to Jagar Tharn's displeasure...
