In this chapter, drawing upon the details of Dana's report on the musical installations in the Square from 1937, Kate manages to repair all the pertinent mechanisms, wind up the piano (using Oscar as the engine), and give one last, even if somewhat half-assed, performance of the Hymn of Vaghen - which, as she startlingly discovers, is exactly the same as her favorite musical box tune from her childhood. With the recotr of the Academy fulfilling his promise and supplying her with Dana's old address, Kate then sets out for her next destination - the Bridge of Mists, where she hopes to find Dana's old home and even more clues to explain their fateful connection.
