The two of them had hoped to find an escape from the domain, yet, it turned out to be a mechanism playing tricks with them. The Domain of Lingering Memory does not easily let go of those it holds captive. Barely anyone makes it out from the place. It's a trap, replaying things you might've forgotten deep in your memory, and takes out what haunts you the most, to torment you and prevent you from exiting the domain. Eventually, the domain will consume those it holds captive, leaving no trace of life behind. It was a question of time before the domain would really start fighting back against them, but the two are unable to put aside their differences and help each other. Perhaps, being trapped might be beneficial, who knows.

Rin stomped his foot in the ground, creating an ice spike which separated the two of them a bit more. Kaminari took a step back in surprise, pulling out her claymore as an instinct. Tears of frustration began forming in Rin's eyes, as he turned his back at her and sat back down on the stone flooring. Kaminari sighed angrily, leaving through the small hole she had entered from.
