The Final Battle for Zidoria - D&D | The Zidoria Saga - Episode 99
12Long ago, back when the Islands of Croix were still in their infancy as a nation, Zidoria was once known by a different name, ruled by High Elves in peace for eons. Around 600 years ago, a Green Dragon, freshly into adulthood, attacked the elves and overwhelmed them, wiping them out and making their home his newest lair. Using his position of power, a new city was built under order of the earlier Kings of Croix. The Green Dragon, disguised and using a silver tongue, became the ruler of this new land as an Arch Duke who remained in power for generations, avoiding revealing who and what he really was.
Gaining fame, power, and fortune... the Green Dragon raised a city more rich and powerful than the very Kingdom that founded it, though it's rise to power was made upon the lives of those less fortunate, grinding mud and blood into gold and marble.
In recent days, the Green Dragon had amassed a large number of powerful allies and leaders working on his behalf, the Dukes and Duchesses of the island of Zidoria. These power-hungry and hedonistic lords and ladies committed horrible atrocities across the land for years using the power and influence they wielded... until a group of unique individuals set on their own quest came to visit.
These individuals learned that their bitter rivals had added to the madness and inhumanity of this island, going so far as to take their closest friends, and greatest loves against their will, forced to endure tortures and terrors intended to break, use, and abuse. But one by one, these friends and lovers were found and rescued with each of the despicable nobles falling to their spells and swords, ultimately leading up to the one who started it all those many years ago...
In preparation for a war against the Green Dragon Tyrant Zyrian, members of the Order of the Sanguine Sea teamed up with the Abyssal Pirates to train up and hone their skills for the battle ahead. The Oni Pirates, under the assumption that Zyrian would have quite an enormous horde, agree to continue to assist the party in hopes of obtaining some treasure... as well as fulfill some more personal requests if possible.\n\nEvelyn and Carolus spent time with their parents, Bell found himself catching the eyes of Revelry, a softspoken member of the Oni Pirates with an affinity towards Knives and Interrogations, and Akira continued to spread a bit of light-hearted chaos at Chase's expense. Speaking of, Chase caught Mi'itrik alone for a moment to learn more of what Bell's hiding, only to find out that Mi'itrik was responsible for sealing away Bell's violent, original self within his own mind and fears it's only a matter of time before it gets loose if he continues on this journey. Anoran watched as Ryudo continued to beat himself up, this time over Crowley's continued existence despite Vhyx trying to cheer him up. In the end, it was Lady Onyx who stepped up to spar with Ryudo while Vhyx went with Teach. It's unknown what conversation they had, but it seemed to be enough to set him on the path to realize, along with Kayli's help, that he had been making everything about himself the entire time, finally re-learning what it means to be a Leader.\n\nAfter creating a plan to use Carolus as bait, using the letter sent to him by Zyrian, the party sets up a trap in Onyx's old village with the intent to lure Zyrian there and prevent him from being able to leave. The village itself was gradually being taken over by nature and crystals, a byproduct of those who fell in the past.\n\nWith the trap set, Zyrian arrived, walking towards Carolus with the intent on recruiting him to his cause after revealing that he knew each and every one of his allies were dead or missing. But it was just as much of a double-cross as the party's plan as Zyrian wanted to expose whatever trap was laid out for him. Somehow, he knew everyone in the party, calling them all out by name.\n\nTaking a powertful shot from Chase did not deter him as he prepared for battle, using the Staff of Sorrow and Ryudo's Chromatic Greatsword as his weapons while summoning his Shield Guardian, the Goblinoid Mech Dragon, to deal with Bell. But to Zyrian's surprise and frustration, the real trap had now been set off as the entire ballista fired upon the Mech Dragon, greatly breaking it and removing most of it's abilities.\n\nZyrian himself still put up a fight, using abilities and magic unexpected from a Green Dragon.
