The first 30 minutes of Atomic Heart
7Hello G4G fans! In this video we take a look at the new horror, FPS from Mundfish. This game is set in post World War II Russia after their victory. The game makes heavy use of the "Germans love crazy tech" mindset from the Wolfenstein games and turns it into "Russians love robots and AI." Very early on in the game, you will get some HUGE Bioshock 3 vibes from this game. The town you start off in is a city in the clouds with a very idyllic, "everything is amazing" feeling to it just like Columbia. Pretty quickly though, you'll see things are all puppies and unicorns. If the Bioshock series didn't exist, I'm not sure this game would. Your glove serves as your sort of Navi...Guardian Ghost...Forspoken Bangle..exposition dumper. The voice work for the glove and NPCS is great but your character is a bit...cringey to say the least. He's awfully 2023 American dude bro for somebody who's supposed to be a 1950s Russian. It's been mentioned that switching the VO to Russian helps a lot. The robots you encounters are all things auto-tuned-uncanny-valley, Metropolis sex slave nipple bots and murderous blender machines. The porn-stache bro bots remind me of the Working Joe bots from Aliens, just with 100% more porn-staches.
I'd been waiting for this game, Scorn and Senua 2-Hellblade for some time now. Scorn has been out for a bit, Hellblade is coming so I'm trilled to see this game finally come out. So far, the game seems worth playing if you can just get past how corny the main character is (think Forspoken, Outriders, FF Stranger of Paradise, etc). Have you tried it yet? It's out for the consoles, Steam and Xbox Game Pass.
