The First Ten Minutes of Chrono Cross (PS1)

I've actually never played that far into this one. I've started it probably ten times, but I always seem to get sidetracked for some reason. I finally put some decent playtime on on the game the other day. Then I remembered I had the strategy guide, so i decided to double check that to make sure I didn't miss anything, and sure enough I already screwed one thing up. I failed to recruit Leena into my party, and the guide says that I'll never have another chance to do it.
So I'm only over two hours into the game, so do I continue knowing that I messed up, and won't have a chance to correct my mistake, or do I just star all over?
I'm going to start all over. Except, I'm going to switch from playing it on my PS2 with a PS1 memory card, to playing it on my PS3 where I can create a memory card specifically for this game, and have multiple saves, and not have to worry about the memory card space, and so I can go back to an earlier save in case I screw something up.
