Join Google Cloud experts Anoop Vetteh, Senior Director of Products for Cloud Networking and Pratibha Suryadevara, VP of Engineering for Cloud Databases as they unveil Google Cloud’s Autonomous Network Operations framework. Learn how this innovative framework enables communication service providers to leverage AI to enhance service reliability, proactively detect and resolve network issues, and turn fragmented data into value.

Modern telecom networks, especially with 5G and edge computing, present immense complexity and scale. The sheer volume of data and the speed required for decision-making overwhelm human capabilities. Traditional automation, which executes predefined tasks, falls short in addressing this dynamic environment. Operators need a system that can continuously sense, learn, and act autonomously to achieve desired outcomes. Yet building highly scalable data and analytics platforms capable of supporting autonomous network operations can be costly and resource intensive.

Google Cloud offers a transformative solution for telecom operators aiming for autonomous network operations. At its core, a real-time "network digital twin" is built on Google Spanner, which provides a globally consistent and infinitely scalable data platform. This digital twin ingests vast amounts of data from the entire network, enabling detailed historical querying for root cause analysis. Advanced AI and machine learning models, specifically Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), then leverage this data to learn normal network behavior and instantly detect anomalies with high precision. This integrated approach allows operators to shift from reactive troubleshooting to proactive and predictive network management, ultimately leading to more reliable, efficient, and resilient services for their customers.

Google’s Autonomous Network Operations framework combines AI/ML-based Graph Neural Networks with Big Query and Cloud Spanner to create network digital twins of the telecom provider’s production network which could learn normal network behavior and detect deviations instantaneously.

Discover how to use this framework to achieve autonomous network operations with real-time root cause analysis and automated remediations, leveraging Google’s extensive knowledge from managing our own hyperscale network.
