A very interesting Sony patent has been discovered, showing a multi GPU specs setup. Could this be the future of Playstation? We examine the PS patents which have surfaced, what the technology within the patent is, and what a multi GPU specification would even mean in a practical setup.
Sony is of course more than PS5 and future Playstation consoles, but in our analysis we discuss what the multi GPU patent tells us about Sony's roadmap, and the applications this tech could have for the company. There have been reports that this could be for a Playstation 5 Pro or even a for the PS6, but would a multi GPU hardware spec make sense for either of those next gen consoles?
There are also reports that Nvidia will be switching back to TSMC for their future GPUs. We've heard a few times that RTX 40 Lovelace will use TMSC 5nm, but could Nvidia be using TSMC's 3nm node and beyond for the rest of their graphics card roadmap? The benefits of switching to TSMC from Samsung are numerable, however there are of course a few drawbacks...
