0Immediately after dealing with the errand alongside Paulie and Monk, Aldo goes out to meet up with Luca who gives him an crash course on shooting from .38 revolver before taking him along on an secret assignment he had received from Vito Corleone himself; Recently, an drug lord named Virgil "The Turk" Sollozzo had approached Corleones with an offer to work with him on distributing heroin throughout New York. However, with Vito refusing, and aware that retaliation will likely follow, he had entrusted Luca with getting close to Sollozzo, who had allied himself with Tattaglia family, by pretending to be interested in defecting, in order to keep an eye on him with this having gone on for some time. As they get to the meeting place within an club in Midtown, Luca tells Aldo to contact Monk should the meeting go wrong, with Luca going inside while Aldo observes through the window in the back alley. While the meeting between Luca, Sollozzo and Tattaglia underboss and Don Tattaglia's son Bruno initially goes smoothly, it quickly escalates as it turns out that the group was aware of Brasi's true allegiance with Bruno pinning Luca's hand to the table with a knife while another man strangles him from behind with an wire, killing him. As this happens, Aldo, who saw everything, is noticed, forcing him to fight his way through Tattaglia enforcers, including the one who strangled Luca before escaping back to his safehouse in Little Italy. Once there, shaken up Aldo immediately calls Monk and tells him that Luca is dead, with Monk telling him to meet him later to discuss their next move...
