Hello and welcome back all my Theorist, I want to get all the possible spoilers out of the way first. Since we will be talking about simulation theory and the parallels between the The Matrix and The Good Place. I assume everyone knows, heard of or seen The Matrix which is one of my favorite movies of all time. Seriously it changed the game and made us question reality (welcome to the dessert of the real) Then The Good Place which was an amazing comedy but the show goes onto ask some deeper questions about morality, existence, philosophy, time. Now with that out of the way, I had an epiphany the other day when I saw this MEME. The bad news is that I'm older than 40, the good news is...That this MEME made me realize, what if this is actually the Bad Place. Okay that might be bad news too. What I'm getting at is, what if we are actually inside of the sophisticated simulation. Life is far from perfect, while it has it's ups it most definitely has had some crazy bad times in recent history we all had to live through. In fact this was the basis of the simulation in The Matrix when agent Smith was talking to Morpheus. (Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world, where none suffered and everyone would be happy) Smith goes on to tell us that humans rejected that version of the Matrix. We kept trying to wake up and Smith told Morpheus that he believes, it is because humans define reality from misery and suffering.
Kinda bleak but that is why the machines picked that version as the simulation for the Matrix, it was the peak of human civilization. Humans were able to accept it and live out their lives oblivious to the program being pulled over their eyes. Since The Matrix came out many have stated that it's the best documentary ever made. Millions of people started to subscribe to the idea, what if we are actually living inside of a simulation. (What if I told you that's not air you're breathing) While the movie the Matrix popularized this suggestion we are inside of a simulation. I actually believe that the brilliant series The Good Place scientifically nailed the process of how the perfect simulation could run.
