The Goonies - NES - longplay
1Konami's first take on the famous movie, in which an unnamed teenager must rescue the rest of the Goonies from the clutches of the Fratellis.
While the Famicom version was only released in Japan, it did see a US exclusive arcade release on the PlayChoice-10 and the Nintendo Vs. System (aptly titled Vs. The Goonies).
Each stage is completed destroying doors using bombs released by enemies after being killed. You must always find 3 keys and a Goonie to advance to the next level.
If you forgot a Goonie, the game will loop back and you must do all over again!!
Each level contains also hidden objects such as diamonds (8 for each level) restoring your vitality once 8 of them have been collected, or headphones to protect your ears from Fratellis injuring sounds.
Furthermore, you can find various suits which protect from many different things or a backpack to hold two bombs instead of one. There are also hidden bonuses that make you earn 5,000 points if collected quicky, or only 1,000 points if you're too slow.
There is also a teleporter on level 3 which takes you directly to level 5.
First extra life is earned at 50,000 points, then at every 100,000.
Behind armored doors you can find slingshots, that allow you to throw pebbles (50 shots), or red vases that recharge your vitality a little and yellow vases that instead give you an extra life.
