The Hardcore Retro God (Review #63 - Bubble Ghost)
Who could expect anything less than yet another enlightening (and uproarious at times) game review, considering we're already past the start of yet another arduous year/decade, right?
Anyways, my latest analysis this year is on the Game Boy port of an earlier Atari ST game, designed & developed by Cristophe Andreani for the ill-fated ERE Informatique back in '87 (which was later acquired by the "also-ill-fated" INFOGRAMES, aka Atari SA). 3 years later, the combined efforts of Opera House - of Verytex, Captain America and the Avengers, Devilish aka Bad Omen, Super Back to the Future 2 fame, etc. - and Pony Canyon c/o Fujisankei Communications International (FCI) were responsible for revamping it to handheld form.
Its concept - you're in control of the titular BUBBLE GHOST, as you have to guide IT and its one and only bubble throughout every hall of the mansion WITHOUT LETTING THE LATTER POP A SINGLE TIME (which, as you'll witness - WILL HAPPEN A LOT IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL), eventually reaching the front door. You can also control interior items, including a lit candle and fans (which, of course, have to be blown out before proceeding), and especially electricity via switches. Why this certain title never caught on after so long, very few have yet to ponder - YOURS TRULY INCLUDED.
