Hey there I'm chelsea cannell here with a clevver movies update on the Hunger Games. The cast is quickly rounding out for the highly aticipated movie adaptation of the popular book of the same name. You've probably already heard that Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Amandla Stenberg, Dayo Okeniyi, Leven Rambin, Jack Quaid, Willow Shields and Jennifer Lawrence are all already on board. WE are now getting word that both Paula Malcomson and John C. Reilly could be joining the cast. Paula, who recently starred in Syfy's Battlestar Gallactica prequel Caprica, has accepted the role to play Katniss and Primrose's mother. In the books, the girls mom is terrified of her girls joining in the Hunger games after recently losing her husband.
John C. REilly, on the other hand, is said to have been offered the role of Hay-mitch Abernathy, a drunk who serves as a mentor to Kat-niss Everdeen and Peeta Mel-lark, after being the only person EVER from District 12 to win the Hunger Games. O'reilly plays a drunk well, which makes this an exciting casting possibility if he does take on the role of Abernathy.
