In the early to mid-90's the internet as we know it was still in its infancy, limited bandwidth and lack of availability led to the rise of multimedia disks to bridge gaps that we now use the internet for such as personal, real estate and even fan information.

The Sega Saturn was utilized quite extensively for this kind of "bridging" where someone maybe didn't have access to the internet, didn't know you could do things like this on the internet or were just wowed by the potential of multimedia CD's.

We're going to talk about the background and examine the contents of three disks today targeting these kind of users from a Japanese perspective.
