The Last of Us Episode 3 just came out and it somehow has surpassed expectations set by the first two episodes.

Episode 3 of the Last of Us features the same beginning and ending, but the meat of this portion of the game and the episode are quite different this time. The story of the game during this section starts out simple enough with Joel and Ellie making their way to Bill who they think might have a vehicle they can use. In the show, while Joel and Ellie are headed that way the viewer doesn’t really know that at first. In the game, we see Joel and Ellie meet up with Bill and share an adventure that ends with them driving off in a new vehicle thanks to Bill. In the show, we see a 16 year period of time that tells us about Bill and his partner Frank. From the time the pandemic starts, to the time Joel and Ellie come knocking on Bill’s door looking for a vehicle.

It’s truly a touching story that really needs to be seen and appreciated. Being a fan of the game, and now the show, I couldn’t help but want to replay the game and share this comparison video to show just how close the two are.
