The Legend of Simubaya: Dark Alliance part 5 The Order of the One Light
0Welcome SimuSquad to another glorious adventure in Faerun! It is part 5 of our run through Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance with the Companion of the Hall, Drizzt Do'Urden! Theoretically, the other three Companions and another fifth character are also in this game as playable characters, but as this game is dead and Drizzt is my favorite, he is all that there is! Too bad, but what can you do?
We are in the fifth act of the game, and our first level is "An Infernal Dispute." In this level, we start our journey to track down a newly reanimated Akar Kessell. Unfortunately for the cultists who reanimated him, he wiped them out, and decided to start gather power again. Also thrown in the mix are Stygian warriors trying to find the shard. In this level, our main objective is to find 5 keystones to unlock a magic door to get through to get closer to access the fortress that Kessell was reanimated in. We died a couple times in this run because I leveled up a bit and decided to try a harder difficulty. After fighting our way through, we end up in a new level!
For the second level, we start "Order of the One Light." In this level, we have enter the fortress, and are making our way deeper in so we can confront Kessell. Here we find more cultists and the Duergar who have allied with them to survive the surface they were now trapped on. Cultists and Duergar are a potent combination that I take heed to not corner myself with. A few deaths of Drizzt and the deaths of many an enemy later, we come the the final door separating us from Kessell.
The final level is "Return of the Tyrant." In it stands the newly reanimated Akar Kessell. A wizard with more power than he deserved, he is more of a challenge than I first realized. Killing him once is not enough, and I die after making some mistakes. But with a readjusting of strategy and a clever usage of potions and tactics, we triumph over Kessell the three times necessary to destroy him. He gets disintegrated by the very same alter that reanimated him before it is destroyed as well. After that, we take time to level up and read some lore!
