The Legend of Simubaya: Dark Alliance part 6 The Mask of Kelvin
0Welcome SimuSquad and adventurers to another glorious adventure in Faerûn! We are in the sixth act, The Mask of Kelvin! Three more stages to play on our journey through Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance! Onward! To battle!
First up is "Ghosts of the Past!" We start our hunt for Utaar, the king of the Frost Giants as he hunts for the Mask of Kelvin, an item that was owned by the first king of the Frost Giants, Kelvin. Utaar's quest has disturbed the long dead, and we have to deal with the consequences. Many wraiths are between us and the catacombs that Utaar is searching for Kelvin's Mask. There are also some Frost Giants sprinkled in for flavor. They want to stop us from disturbing Kelvin's tomb, but unfortunately, they don't stop to ask us why we're there so we fight our way through.
Level two is "The Broken City." Here, we find the remains of one of Kelvin's cities that fell when he was corrupted by the Shard. Of course, it's not as easy as taking a short afternoon walk. We have lots of floating platforms that we have to jump between. Platforming is not this games strong suit, but luckily, this isn't a Mario game, and I always respawn right near the ledge. We also have to deal with lots of trolls with the usual goblins, wraiths, and Frost Giants. One section has eight trolls to deal with in a row. I die several times in the area because three trolls at the same time is a bit much for one player. But in the end, we move on to the next stage!
The final level were we fight the boss, "The Face of Kelvin." Utaar is still ahead of us, but we are getting closer. The Frost Giants are at the tomb, and open the sarcophagus. They find more they bargained for Kelvin's Mask! We fight our way to Utaar's position for the final confrontation! A glorious boss battle awaits! Watch to see how it goes!
