We do obtain an important item in this part:
Piece of Heart #4: Located south in Kakariko Village, you can be tested to get through an obstacle course in under 15 seconds. Using the bench-jumping part of the course, it should be very easy. After beating it, you will get a Piece of Heart. If you mess up, just enter the house, then exit it again for another chance.
