This is one of the best selling Nintendo 64 games that released in 1998, this game is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and it is now on Nintendo Switch Online. The main character is Link, who lives in Kokiri Village, and he is the only one without a fairy, and that is when Navi is sent by the Deku Tree to help Link out on his quest, but Link will need a sword and a shield to be better prepared if he wants to meet the Deku Tree.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

While this will be in the playlist for Nintendo Switch Online, I will mainly be doing that for any Nintendo 64 game in Nintendo Switch Online, as I show the info for that game before starting it, and I am using a site called Zelda Dungeon on their Ocarina of Time Walkthrough guide for this one, even though it does cover the 3DS remake of the game, it can work for the original N64 game. This game released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64, and it was released for the GameCube as part of the Collector's Edition in 2003, and it got a remake for the 3DS called The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, which released in 2011. This will be in my Nintendo Switch Online playlist for Nintendo 64 games, but I will consider doing that for a YouTube playthrough at some point later, because I don't want to do too many playthroughs at once, so I will do at least two at a time.
At the start of the game, the Great Deku Tree talks about the children of the forest known as the Kokiri, and he mentions one boy that does not have a fairy, while we see Link sleeping in his bed, and we get a scene where Link finds two people being chased by a scary-looking man riding a horse, and it turns out to be a dream.
Then the Great Deku Tree summons Navi and sends her to where Link is, and after seeing Navi's perspective of the forest, we then get a bit of dialogue, and you can then control Link.
The moment you leave the house, you will be greeted by Saria, she is Link's childhood friend, and she is happy that Link now has a fairy of his own. Your first stop is the Great Deku Tree, but a Kokiri named Mido is blocking the way, he acts as a bully to Link, and he will not let Link pass unless he gets a sword and a shield, and that is really what you have to do. The Deku Shield can be bought from the shop for 40 Rupees, but I would prioritize on getting the sword first.
You have to go to the Forest Training Ground, which is left from Link's house, you will find a small hole which you can crawl into, and on the other side is a maze-like area, watch out for the rolling boulder, and at the end is a chest containing the Kokiri Sword.
You can use the sword to cut grass and collect Rupees, keep this up until you have 40 Rupees, a Kokiri at the Forest Training Ground tells you how to do certain actions, like jump attack, Z-Targeting, and a backflip, and there is a Kokiri sitting on top of the shop who tells you have to talk to people with your fairy. Sometimes Navi can give you hints and say "Hey, Listen!", this is one of the reasons why Navi gets a lot of hate, and is considered to be the most annoying character in The Legend of Zelda series.
Once you have 40 Rupees, enter the shop and buy the Deku Shield, and a secret is you can get a Blue Rupee, which gives you 5 Rupees to the side of the shop. Once you are well equipped, talk to Mido, and he will move aside, this guy is such a bully, and when you go down the path, there are a bunch of enemies there, they are known as the Deku Baba, and they go down in one attack with your sword, and they drop Deku Sticks, which you can keep up to 10 of, and they will prove to be useful in the upcoming area.
Then Link meets up with the Great Deku Tree, who tells him that the nightmares Link has experienced are connected to an evil that is descending upon Hyrule, and that the Great Deku Tree has been cursed, and he asks Link if he wants to break the curse, and when you accept, you can enter the Deku Tree's mouth and start your quest.
