As usual this is from minotaurus hard work! He has also written notes, so who am i for stopping him doing some extra documentation? :D

The Gameboy and NES versions were developed by the same development team, but unlike the NES one, the portable version has 3 more levels, all with a grown Simba:

Simba's Destiny: some sort of maze level, we just have to get to the end (dark upper left part of the stage).

Hyena Lairs: in this level we have to face a lot of hyenas, eliminating them in order to choose the passage to take.
Choose the right path to proceed, if you make a mistake you will return to the beginning of the level (every time we take a wrong turn all hyenas will return and we have to face them again).

Return to pride rock: Final battle against our uncle Scar.
We have to face him several times, with some platforming sections.
You have to face it 3 times.

Simba sprite is somewhat weird (the puppy Simba seems bigger than adult version).
Adult form can use claws, useful against rocks thrown by gorillas or to defeat easily hyenas an against Scar in the final battle.
Normal enemies still requires roar or jump to be killed.

Bonus stages:
Beware of "big spider" which if collected ends immediately bonus stage.
Insects fall randomly and often you'll lose because it simply becomes impossible to catch every insect.
After catching a certain amount of them you gain extra lives and circles of life (used for continue the game).

LIVES

You can have a maximum of 9 lives, no more (i died on hakuna matata stage to show this thing); 1ups taken when you already have 9 lives do not emit any sound effect.

A licensed game i played a lot a child. Seeing it again today i can say that it hasn't perfect collisions and some jumps are quite frustrating.
Compared to the NES version we have a narrowed view, but three more final levels, missing on Nintendo 8-bit console.
However they seem to have been created in a certain hurry and Simba as a grown lion is less playable..

Played by minotaurus and recorded by VED, as part of the videogame endings database, whose goal is to catalogue and create the world's largest archive of videogame endings! (what an humble and not ambitious project :D)
