The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth - RETURN of SHADOW-MOD 1.4 - Rohan VS Isengard (PC)
In this video I'm letting the computer or AI fight itself as Rohan and Isengard again, but this time I'm using a huge MOD for the first Battle for Middle-earth game - the RETURN of SHADOW modification which changes everything from the gameplay to the models, even though the style of BfMe is kept but now everything is bigger, you have eleven playable factions, more heroes, new powers, lots of new stuff and the original factions have been changed as well. One main difference in the gameplay is that buildings and fortifications have much more health and as such siege equipment is needed to take them out easily - normal units won't do much damage to these structures which is more realistic and will also prolong the battle unless the right equipment is built.
The models of this mod have better textures than in the vanilla game, but they are still oldschool models - so I'd say the troops of Rohan do look better than in the original but worse than in any modern modification with new models. Isengard on the other hand looks worse than in the original because they have book-based models and no longer is using the movie-styled models of the original - while th new models may have better textures I just dislike the change in their style - as I always thought the Isengard faction was the most bad-ass looking and with the models being different I no longer find them the most badass faction in this mod. The creator has done awesome work on other factions though like Harad, Lorien, Imladris, Erebor, Dol Amroth etc - I just think that his orcs are worse.
Orcs - not the Goblins - the Goblin units on the maps do look much better here than in the Edain mod in my opinion.
Anyway,I'm not voice-commenting in this video - however I am playing a bit as the 2nd Rohan-faction building up all the 7 structures in my base and recruiting very few units but every hero - Yes, I will be actively playing as the heroes of Rohan while the computer is using armies. The computer for some reason never recruited the Rohirrim heroes.
