The man who was Vishy Anand's room mate and trained the beast for 5 years - S.C. Subramanian
S.C. Subramanian has dedicated his life to chess! He was a strong chess player and had a highest FIDE rating of 2260. At some point he had shared a room with the great Vishy Anand. In this interview Subramanian speaks about his experience of sharing a room with Anand and what was so special about the lightning kid.
During his chess career, Subramanian got a job in Railways. He later took voluntary retirement and pursued his passion by becoming a full time coach. He went on to train two extremely strong GMs - Adhiban and Shyam Sundar. Sagar Shah met up with Subramanian in Mahabalipuram and spoke to him about his unique training methods.
