Goku's origin story has changed a lot over the years, so what is his current origin story?

If I asked you about Goku's origin story I think a lot of people would give slightly different answers. Found in the woods, sent to conquer the Earth, hitting his head in a ravine, or simply spared by his father Bardock in his first - or maybe even second - act of kindness. So to clear this up, I wanted to go over the changing origin of Son Goku throughout the entire Dragon Ball franchise until we get to his current origin story, so you know exactly how Goku ended up on Mount Paozu in chapter 1 of Dragon Ball.
