The Maze (1953)
5Just in time for Halloween, here's another, lesser known horror classic. A perfect example of "The Old Dark House" type of story, with tons of creepy vibes and spooky atmosphere, 1953's "The Maze", directed by William Cameron Menzies (who also did the sci-fi classics Things to Come and Invaders From Mars), is equal parts chiller, and mystery. The beautiful Kitty Murray, wants to know why her fiance, Gerald, has suddenly broken off their engagement, and refusing to say why, has returned to his ancestral castle. Bringing along mutual friends to try help him, she must get to the bottom of this mysterious "duty" that has engulfed her love. Just what is going on in this dreary old place, and what is the secret of the forbidden hedge maze? Tune in to find out!
