the old city walkthrugh part 1
Mix of Dear Esther, Gone Home, and the Stanley Parable. It has a beginning middle and end like Dear Esther, open levels each like a small Gone Home, and adaptive changing environments like the Stanley Parable. It's an adventure game in the sense that you have to explore to understand anything about the story. The story is, in fact, the whole point of the game, but it's incredibly difficult to pin down, so you need to venture into the nooks and crannies of the game world to make sense of it. That is to say, you'll need to do some adventuring. If you're looking for a traditional game, or even something that would be traditionally defined as a game, you should probably look elsewhere. The only gameplay that exists is that which allows you to progress the plot, which, again, is incredibly difficult to pin down without doing the necessary detective work and exploration.
The Old City: Leviathan is an experiment in first person exploration that focuses entirely on story. All that exists is you and the world. Set in a decaying city from a civilization long past, The Old City: Leviathan puts the player in the shoes of a sewer dwelling isolationist.
