The ONE manager that Spurs should’ve signed
What if Carlo Ancelotti became Spurs manager in 2019? #ancelotti #tottenhamhotspur
As 2019 wound to a close and life was about to change as we knew it: both Tottenham Hotspur and Carlo Ancelotti were in a bind.
Mauricio Pochettino was failed by Tottenham’s hierarchy in the transfer market despite the miracle of silver medals in the Premier League and Champions League. He was sacked, replaced 24 hours later by Jose Mourinho.
Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti limped along in his second season in Naples. He would depart Napoli after guiding them to the Champions League last 16 for only the fourth time in their history.
Today we ask: what if the timelines were ever so slightly re-adjusted so that both Ancelotti and Spurs found one another?
