The Outer Worlds playthrough on Supernova difficulty Part 31 Tartarus [FINAL]
For the whole description, please read the info in Part 01
The grand finale. Tartarus appeared to be hell of a difficult location. Once I reached lvl 30, I thought I am pretty much safe and prepared for most of the challenges, but I was wrong. Still, I wanted to take out as many of the enemies as possible and once I discovered the mysterious notes on "RAM", I wanted to get all of them. I kind of did not feel like using the shroud and remain stealthy here. I was more tentative in the Pit though. On Supernova difficulty, you can only save the game on your ship OR make a clever use of the autosaving feature (while getting from one location to another). The Pit was so huge, with so many elevators and mazes, I left some enemies behind, because it was too damn risky. I also dealt with the RAM in the easy way (though I had to walk all the way back to the ship, to restore my intelligence, to hack that thing).
And there they were, the final credits. I must admit this game is one of the best I have ever played. I loved the setting, the music, the characters. I will genuinely miss the crew, because those were well-written characters. I really liked the final cutscene with the narrator just describing all the aftermath of your decisions and the future of the colony. It was very nostalgic for me since it was similar to the ending of Fallout 2, the first long game I finished on PC, years ago. The best thing I liked in the game was its creepy atmosphere. Initially, you are surrounded by happy jingles, some witty or bad jokes, you get used to the sense of humor this game wants to present. However, the further you get in the story, the more you become aware of the second layer of all of this. Later on, you feel uneasy, uncomfortable. Just add the plot twists and the implied elements at the end of the game and you get a really epic example of story-telling. I give this game a strong 12/10! I am really glad I was able to complete it.
