This is video #034 in my gameplay series of The Outer Worlds for the Sony PlayStation 4. The Outer Worlds is rated M for blood and gore, intense violence, and strong language.

Previously, the party carried out Lilya Hagen's faction quest "The Ice Palace" and "salvaged" space station HRS-1084 for SubLight. Then, they accepted her next faction quest, "The Chimerist's Last Experiment", to find and kill Eva Chartrand in Byzantium. The party then landed at the Byzantium Freight Port Landing Pad on Terra 2. Ellie finally opened up about herself and issued the companion quest "The Low Crusade". She wants to visit and offend her parents. How ... sweet. Now, the party will begin exploring the city of Byzantium.

Byzantium:

The party resumes at the Byzantium Freight Port Landing Pad in the northeast of the city.

For the main quest "The City and the Stars", they talk to Phineas's contact, Carmen Imagawa, near the landing pad. This concludes the objective to meet with Phineas' contact. The next objective is to speak to Minister Clarke. Clarke is in his heavily guarded estate. There is an optional objective to speak to the Minister's guards. Some of the guards spend their free time at Billingsly's House of Inebriation. Further conversation with Carmen shows that not all is well in Halcyon. Of course, we have seen signs of this ever since the very start of the game.

After the conversation, Davilas is promoted to Level 27. He allocates his skill points and levels up.

The party explores the landing pad and picks up some loose items.

When the party leaves the docking bay, they find the retirement center directly down the path to the west. There is nothing they can do here just yet.

North of the retirement center, the party takes the elevator up to street level.

Before long, they chat with an NPC named Maverick Johnston. Maverick invites Davilas to audition for a part in a movie. What fun! This starts the side quest "At Central". The first objective is to attend the audition, which is at the Odeon Pictures building in Byzantium.

Down the stairs to the west of where they met Maverick, the party enters Prosperity Plaza, a fast-travel location. The large device in the middle of the plaza is an orrery showing the Halcyon system. The shop to the northeast is Forsythe Luxury Munitions. The vendor, Winston Forsythe, mainly sells weapons.

Billingsly's House of Inebriation is the bar upstairs in the northwest of Prosperity Plaza. The Bartender Mechanical behind the counter sells the booze.

At the bar in Billingsly's, the party talks to Guard Mayfield for "The City and the Stars". He is celebrating his new job by getting plastered. He even has his own key to the Minister's estate... The party can offer to buy him a drink. He will want a few Spectrum Vodkas. This updates "The City and the Stars".

The party talks to the Bartender Mechanical and picks up some Rizzo Spectrum Vodka Red.

Then, they talk to Guard Mayfield again. Over time, they give him three Spectrum Vodka Reds. After this, Mayfield heads to a nearby room and passes out. At least, I hope that's all that happens to him! The party picks up his Minister's Estate Key quest item. This concludes the optional objective to speak to the Minister's guards for "The City and the Stars".

Upstairs in the southwest of the plaza, the party finds Jolicoeur's Haberdashery. They enter and talk to Celeste Jolicoeur. She is ... a character. Celeste issues the task quest "Makes Space Suits, Won't Travel". The first objective is to model outfits for Celeste. She wants to see three outfits consisting of headgear and body armor: Iconoclast apparel, Marauder armor, and spacer gear (not Spacer's Choice, but real spacer gear). There are options for each type of gear. The gear's description will indicate its type.

Then, for Parvati's companion quest "Don't Bite The Sun", the party tells Celeste that Parvati needs a fine outfit for a date. The initial cost is 6,000 bits. The party can lower the cost with a Persuade skill of 65 or an Intimidate skill of 65. After Davilas uses the Persuade option, the cost is 3,000 bits. He pays this and obtains the Fancy Evening Wear, Collarless quest item. This concludes the objective to find Parvati fancy clothes for "Don't Bite The Sun". The next objective is to speak to Parvati.

Once Celeste is done enjoying the sound of her own voice, Davilas talks to Parvati and gives her the outfit. This concludes the objective to speak to Parvati for "Don't Bite The Sun". The next objective is to talk to Parvati on the ship, after docking on the Groundbreaker.

Celeste sells not only fine clothing but decent armor, as well. Some might be worth picking up.
