Previously, the party continued exploring and questing in Byzantium. They carried out the task quest "All Halcyon in a Day" and disappointed Alonzo Vallejos by not getting killed during their tour. For the side quest "At Central", they auditioned for a movie at Odeon Pictures. They carried out Ellie's companion quest "The Low Crusade" and met her parents, who had no business being parents. Now, the party will explore the Estates District in Byzantium and do some more questing.
Byzantium:
The party resumes in the Estates District in Byzantium. Dr. Eva Chartrand's home for the faction quest "The Chimerist's Last Experiment" is located in the northwest of this district, but the party will carry it out later.
At the intersection of Terra 2 and Vanderbilt, the party finds Hortense Ingalsbee, who is griping about the flood of "undesirables" in Byzantium. As the party endures her tirade about the Early Retirement program, she issues the side quest "Why Call Them Back From Retirement?". The first objective is to investigate the Retirement District, which is next to the Freight Port Landing Pad. She gives the party the Docking Bay Terminal Codes quest item, needed to enter the Retirement District.
Minister Clarke's Residence is at the southern end of Terra 2 Street on the eastern side. As the party approaches the Corporate Sentinel outside the front door, a scene takes place. It sounds like the minister is expecting a package—excuse me, a parcel—from the Halcyon Parcel Service. This adds the optional objective to retrieve the Minister's package from HPS for the main quest "The City and the Stars".
The party fast-travels to the Byzantium Freight Port Landing Pad. Upon arrival, they turn southwest and head for the Retirement Center. They overhear a conversation between a couple of UDL troopers inside.
The party uses Hortense's Docking Bay Terminal Codes to operate the terminal. They use it to unseal the cargo door. Afterwards, they go through the door to the Early Retirement District.
Early Retirement District (time 15:33):
The party arrives in the Early Retirement District's welcome center on floor 2/2. The six plaques have Early Retirement Fun Facts. Hm. If it sounds too good to be true...
To the south, the party operates the terminal. They consent to "Early Retirement", and the door leading forward opens.
Past the door, the party takes the elevator down to floor 1/2. In the bay beyond, they discover the true nature of early retirement. Poor retirees. This concludes the objective to investigate the Retirement District for "Why Call Them Back From Retirement?". The next objective is to escape. As the party steps forward, hostile Retirement Facilitation Drones and other automechanicals will be released into the room. The party aggressively dismantles them.
In a side room, the party finds a datapad with "Refund Request: T&L Shock Cannon".
In the southern room, the party can find a terminal and a sealed hatch. There is an option on the terminal to disable the automechanicals, but it requires a Hack skill of 65. The party uses the terminal to unseal the hatch. Then, they take the hatch to the Maintenance Tunnels.
Maintenance Tunnels (time 28:58):
The party arrives in the southern area of the Maintenance Tunnels. The automechanicals in this area start out non-hostile. The party repairs their gear at the Workbench. They unbar a door to the northeast that links to the rest of the Maintenance Tunnels. This concludes the objective to escape for "Why Call Them Back From Retirement?". The next objective is to return to Hortense.
Also, in the northwest of the automech room, there is a locked door leading to a storage room with a good bit of ammo and other stuff.
The party heads to the northeast end of the Maintenance Tunnels and takes the elevator to Prosperity Plaza in Byzantium.
Byzantium (time 32:50):
The party arrives in the Maintenance Tunnels underpass. They take the employee entrance to the Halcyon Parcel Service.
The description is continued in the comments.
