(I have only done this on PS5, so it might not work on other hardware. I only stumbled on this

This is a method to force items in the world to respawn after picking them up, making it very easy to get an abundant supply of parts, consumable items, Mag-Picks, Bypass Shunts, etc.

This only works for items that spawn openly in the world. It does not work for any items inside of any containers (whether they spawn there on their own, or you put them there yourself), and it does not work for any items that you drop on the ground.

It's an incredibly easy trick to do, especially if you are not on Supernova as you can manually save, but even then it is still easy.

THE TRICK IS THIS: after picking up any items that you want to farm, pause the game and select "load game" to bring up your list of saves but DO NOT load a save. Close the menu, save the game, and load the save. That's it.
This method is quite forgiving, as it doesn't require any quick button presses, so long as you do not load into a new area after picking up any items.

If you are playing on Supernova, you can use any autosaves from loading into a new area, or from fast traveling to your ship, then loading the autosave it makes, so log as you open the load game menu right before opening a door to another area or fast traveling.
Make sure you check that the autosave that you load is a new one though. Trying to make an autosave that is too close to the previous one, especially if using the same trigger, can result in no autosaves being made. (this is what prompted me to check the timestamps right before attempting to trigger an autosave, which happens to be exactly the most important thing for this trick)

I tested the manual saves in the ship, and the weapon parts and shotgun respawned every time. I have also tested this with two different characters.
if you forget to open the load game screen before saving though, the items will not respawn when you load.

Also, there are two Cabinets by the back door to the Community Center that always respawn their items whenever you enter the Center (they are the first two that I open in this video). The items that spawn in them are random for each character, but they stay the same for that individual character. On one character of mine, one has a junk item and the other has a Mag-Pick, and on this character in the video one is empty and one has a weapons part. This can be a very fast way to farm, as you can use the door to go outside, turn around and come back inside and grab the respawning items as many times as you want, even without this loading trick. Although if you put any of your own items in those cabinets, the contents will be refreshed when you come back, meaning your items will be gone and only the respawning items will be there.
