To call any piece of media a perfect sequel is quite hard. Not much media out there tends to understand in full proportions what made the original great, and how to correctly expand upon the concepts relayed in the first part without entirely copying the tropes of that part. It’s a common problem seen in movies, games and books. Where the original movie may be an absolute masterpiece, deserving of praise from all, the sequel may entirely destroy the reputation in part due to a lack of originality, or an entire lack of understanding as to what made the original great in the first place.
