The Price is Right: The Very First Item Up for Bids
After learning yesterday (8/26/2023) that the world's greatest emcee, Bob Barker, has passed away at the age of 99, I felt I had to do at least one more song from "The Price is Right" (some of which I was planning on doing anyways; it's just a matter of finding the right day and the right time to do them) as a tribute to him. I really wanted him to hit his 100th birthday because not many make it to 100 years old (and I wanted the same for Betty White), but it wasn't to be. Instead, according to one comment I read on Facebook, Bob got as close as he could without going over.
There are a few more cues from TPIR that I want to do, but I'm waiting for my health to improve because it's not at 100% right now. It's also, as I said, a matter of finding the right moment to do these scores.
This song has the title "The Very First Item Up for Bids," and so I chose that. My arrangement is for a typical jazz combo lineup:
Trumpet
Sax section (alto, tenor, baritone)
Trombone
Jazz guitar
Piano
Acoustic bass
Drum set
Vibraphone
This arrangement © me and me alone
Original music by Score Productions
The Price is Right © Fremantle and everybody else who owns the rights; it was originally a Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Production.
