The Real Darth Vader - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (PSP)
Through the use of Cheat Engine, I was able to force Chad Vader from the prologue to be the player character instead of the virgin Vader with Starkiller animations/abilities that's normally playable in this mission. Overall, the results are... mixed. On one hand, it makes the mission a lot more fun and immersive in terms of gameplay due to the different animations and the choke ability. On the other hand, he looks like shit in cutscenes (with the ending being an exception likely because that Darth Vader is likely a separate entity from the one the player controls). Another issue with Darth Vader is that if you try to perform any abilities that are only available to Starkiller and not Vader, he will freeze into whatever animation is currently playing (the exception being Force Lightning which is replaced with Force Choke). Control can only be regained by getting damaged by something. The same thing happens if Vader is gripped/choked, but it appears the player regains control once he hits the ground. Vader is also very over powered. As seen you can see in the video, his Saber Throw absolutely demolishes opponents with ease. Force Choke is also a bit unbalanced too, and some affected enemies like Luke in the video act like they're getting hit by lightning rather than being choked.
As for how this hack was done, it's literally as simple as searching for the string "A002_PCDarthVader" in Cheat Engine and replacing the first reference it finds with the string "A002_DarthVader_PC". You can replace Vader and the other characters too, so you can create some silly matchups like Luke facing off against himself in this mission or having Vader fight Anakin on Mustafar. From my tests, you cannot replace a character with any of Starkiller's costumes from the story mode unfortunately. Likewise, you cannot play as any of the enemy NPC characters with their proper animations like Palpatine, Rahm Kota, or Shaak Ti. My theory is that these strings are variable names set somewhere in some files because "A9117_PCDarthMaul" has no files whatsoever despite being referenced by the game in memory. It's also very plausible that the NPC Jedi/Sith are set up differently than the playable characters since playable characters are denoted with the label "PC" (playable character) in the files.
By the way, sorry if the thumbnail is a bit clickbaity with the Chad Vader logo! It was too good of a joke to pass up! =P Besides, technically this IS Chad Vader since it is Matt Sloan!
