The Resistance - The Wintervale Saga - Episode 28
The party had found themselves in the ruins of a town after having crossed a frozen wasteland for hours. After spending a night in a still intact barn and keeping warm with their Thermal Cube, they prepared to leave and continue their trek. However they spotted another building on the way out of town that still had a single living soul.
The man, Braga Lewis, revealed he was captain of the guard of the village, but failed to protect it from a recent Frost Giant attack. Revealing more about the situation, the party learns that the Frost Giants have been getting more aggressive lately and that the Kenkus they dealt with in the cavern before seem to be under the employment of the Archbishop himself, apparently to help "enforce his rule" as Braga put it.
After the party learned what they could, they left towards the northern outpost, but due to an alarm set by Bell, he was alerted to someone crossing through towards Braga's home not long after they left. Turns out it was Braga himself who had stepped out, taking his own life atop the graves of his wife and daughter, leaving a note that he had nothing left to give to Wintervale except for the hope that he may have met and assisted the warriors of prophecy: Outsiders carrying the warmth of the sun.
Taking his Gun, they etched his name upon it, vowing to use it on whoever was responsible for this whole thing.
Making it to the Outpost, they found the Mayor of Wintervale city along with two remaining personal guards under attack by a Frost Giant and it's Ogre minions. The party assisted in saving them, and upon learning that the Mayor was the leader of the Resistance, a group of people going against the Archbishop's rules to learn the truth of the state of the Island, they followed him and his guards, aptly named Mario and Luigi (thanks guys), to resistance HQ, where they met the other members... including Bell's long missing sister figure Mii'trik Alorra, going by the alias of Whisper-in-the-Wind.
As the two have their reunion, we pick up where we left off in the HQ of the Resistance... now in a new tabletop game. Tabletop simulator, for as much good as it has done us, has been replaced with something new and designed for tabletop RPGs in mind: TaleSpire! So forgive us as things are taken a bit more slowly for the first session using this program.
