During his live action debut, he showed how great he was in making sound decisions. However, some decisions would come back to bite him. And he would succumb to Quintessa’s mind control. Resulting in him becoming the evil Nemesis Prime. Many wondered how he could easily submit to the Great Deceiver. But the most interesting detail fans tend to overlook is the fact that Optimus basically let his guilt and desperation consume him. Since he was the 1 who launched the Allspark off Cybertron it basically killed the planet. Which he felt guilty of. And he had a chance to rectify this mistake multiple times. But he chose not to when he destroyed the Cube. Destroyed the Star Harvester. And the pillars. Because his good spark wouldn’t allow him to hurt the humans. So his guilt of those actions allowed him to be controlled which ultimately made him do whatever it took to save his homeworld.
